Romantic Vacation Down Under

Australia has so many amazing and romantic spots to head to for a vacation that it can be difficult to know where to begin sometimes. Here are a few of our top tips to get you started and have you swanning off on your ideal trip away in no time.

When are you going?

One of the first things to consider is if you have to go away at a specific time. There is no point planning out the perfect vacation at the exact right place and then finding out that it is closed for the season, so find out when you are going or select a time based on the best time for where you want to go.

Location, location, location

If you are from Australia, have a think about whether you want to stay fairly close to home or if you want to go and check out a place you have never been before. For those flying in from elsewhere, do you just want to go to one specific place or travel around a bit more? Without trying to point out the obvious too much, Australia is a big country. Make sure you have a good idea of where things are in relation to each other and make sure you aren’t trying to plan a 3 week road trip into 5 days or miss out on where you really want to go. As we all know location is key, so really think about where you want to go.

Activities

Something that can really play a major role in your vacation is knowing which if any activities you want to do. For the more adventurous among you, Australia offers so many exciting opportunities to try new things, from diving and surfing to hiking and climbing, many of which are sure to wow even the most jaded and seasoned of travellers. For those of you who think of a vacation as a chance to spend a relaxing chilled out time together, with the most adventurous activity more along the lines of a trip to an adult toy store, there are plenty of famously romantic spots where you can hit up a spa, lay out on the beach or take a couples cruise so have a look.

Night owl or early bird?

Another factor to consider is the type of couple you are and what sort of nightlife you are looking for on your trip. Do you want the hustle and bustle of a city like Melbourne with live music, late night shopping and night time food markets and fine dining, or the peace and solitude of the countryside with walks and waterfalls? From vineyards and wineries to deserts, Australia has a little, or a lot, of everything, so think about what sort of vacation would most suit you and your partner.

At the end of the day no two couples are exactly the same, so have a chat, put your heads together and do plenty of research before finally booking your romantic trip down under, and make sure it really is as special as you deserve.
