Tennant Creek, the regional centre for the Barkly Tablelands, is a comfortable day's drive from Alice Springs, Katherine or Mount Isa. Situated in the third-richest goldfield of Australia, with a population of 3,500, the town has modern amenities and services.
The DEVIL'S MARBLES straddle the highway only about 120Km south of Tennant Creek. Camping facilities, including toilets and barbecue areas are available.
