Dreamtime Cultural Centre
Rockhampton
his centre pays homage to the Australian Aborigines and the Torres Strait Islanders who have inhabited this land for over 40 000 years. The Centre's built on the site where elders of the Darambal tribe who once called this region their own made their campsite and gathered for ancient tribal meetings and burial ceremonies.

Set on more than 10 hectares of natural bushland, the Centre has a sandstone cave replica, burial sites, rock art and a timber-lined billabong.

Mt Hay Gemstone Park
37km south of Rockhampton
Dig your own thundereggs and spherulitic. Each thunderegg is guaranteed to be 120 million years old. Guided tours of the diggings and the gemstone processing are available.

Capricorn Caverns
23km north of Rockhampton these are Australia's largest privately owned limestone caves.

Gangalook Heritage Village
Located 20km north of Rockhampton with examples of how the pioneers once lived. Tours are conducted daily, and the village comes to life on the last sunday of every month with music, arts, and crafts stalls, blacksmithing, shearing and pioneer displays.

Mt Morgan
An historical tour of the town includes the open cut gold mine and man-made caves with ceiling formations which are actually 150 million year old dinosaur footprints. The town also has an historic museum with an excellent collection of mining memorabilia.

Cooberrie Park

Wonan Museum
