Lady Musgrave Island Holidays & Travel Qld

Lady Musgrave Island is an uninhabited coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s greatest natural phenomenons and a World Heritage Listed Marine Park. Lady Musgrave Lagoon’s amazing colours and beauty are unsurpassed anywhere in the world, boasting an abundance of coral, fish and turtles. An excellent location for families to enjoy the beauty of the reef. Just like a big colourful swimming pool.

Lady Musgrave Island is the only coral island on the Great Barrier Reef with a navigable lagoon - over eight kilometres in circumference. In summer, turtles come ashore to lay their eggs and thousands of seabirds nest in rookeries on the uninhabited island. The island is a national park and there are no shops or facilities ashore. However, camping wilderness style is permitted for up to 40 people at a time. Campers must take their own fresh water and food and all supplies for the ultimate in getaways. Lady Musgrave Island is a national park and as such there are no shops or facilities ashore

There are tour operators offer fulled guided tours of the reef and give you the opportunity to slip into the warm tropical waters – perfect any time of year for diving, swimming and snorkelling.

As a part of Capricornia Cays National Park, there is camping on the island for most of the year
