Kakadu National Park
Kakadu National Park is located 171 kilometers east of the city of Darwin, which is both a natural and cultural monument of Australia. In total, Kakadu Park has more than 1,700 plant species, 280 bird species, 117 reptile species, 77 freshwater fish species, 1,000 insect species, and 60 mammal species.
A unique species of eucalyptus grows here called Eucalyptus Koolpinensis. Underwater, among the roots of mangrove trees, you can find the barramundi perch, which is considered a symbol of the Australian continent. What to say about kangaroos and just a huge number of reptile species: from tiny lizards to giant crocodiles.
The park is also famous for its waterfalls, of which there are as many as seven. However, the main value of Kakadu Park is caves with rock art. The very name of the park comes from the cockatoo tribe that lived in this area for 40 thousand years.
Uluru
The orange-brown rock of Uluru, rising in the middle of the desert in the heart of the continent, is considered one of the universally recognized symbols of Australia. The cliff is 3.6 km long, about 3 km wide, and 348 meters high.
Since prehistoric times, local aborigines have been in awe of Uluru. According to legend, the divine guardians of this place once lived here. They were a water python and a black monitor lizard. Aboriginal people still conduct their rituals at the foot of the mountain.
For thousands of years, the mountain served as a haven for the natives, since only for many kilometers around you could find water gushing out from under the mountain.

The stone that makes up Uluru is also unique. Red sandstone has the ability to change its color depending on the lighting. With the onset of dawn, the black silhouette of the mountain begins to lighten, acquiring a dark purple hue. Then Uluru turns purple-red, pink, and by noon shines like a gigantic gold ingot. The rock changes its color throughout the day until at sunset it again turns into a black silhouette against the setting sun.
Sydney
Another attraction of Australia, this time man-made, is the port of Sydney, which has become a real hallmark of the country. It is here that the famous building of the Sydney Opera House is located, and the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Sydney Harbor Bridge are also located there.
The Island of Tasmania
