ADVERTISING & PUBLISHING

Travel Australia Network Advertising & Publishing Terms

These terms apply to article publishing, contributor submissions, advertising placements and promotional services supplied by Travel Australia Network (TAN).

By submitting content, approving an advertising campaign or making payment for a TAN publishing or advertising service, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these terms.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

1. Acceptance of Articles and Advertising

All articles, advertisements, promotional material and partnership requests are subject to review and approval by Travel Australia Network.

Submission of content does not guarantee acceptance or publication. TAN reserves the right to decline material that we consider unsuitable for our audience, website, editorial standards or commercial requirements.

2. Article Submission Requirements

Articles should normally be supplied as a standard Microsoft Word DOCX file and should be publication-ready when submitted.

A typical contributor article is approximately 800 to 2,000 words, although shorter or longer articles may be accepted where appropriate.

Submissions may include:

  • Article title and subheadings
  • Body copy
  • Relevant website links
  • Images and image credits
  • Image alt text
  • Author or business details
  • Preferred meta title and meta description

HTML files, executable files, scripts, macro-enabled documents, malicious code or other potentially unsafe files must not be submitted.

3. Editorial Review and Changes

TAN may make reasonable editorial or technical changes to submitted material before publication.

These changes may include correcting spelling or grammar, adjusting formatting, headings, titles, image presentation, metadata, internal links or page layout.

TAN will not intentionally alter the commercial meaning of an article without discussing significant changes with the contributor where appropriate.

4. Payment Before Publication

Once an article or advertising request has been reviewed and accepted, TAN will issue a PayPal invoice for the agreed service.

Payment must be received in full before an article, advertisement or promotional placement is published live.

TAN does not publish articles before payment has been received. This is a standard and strict publishing policy.

5. Publication Timeframes

Once cleared payment has been received, accepted articles are usually published within approximately one hour during normal Australian business and waking hours.

Payments received overnight Australian time, on weekends, during holidays or when manual review is required may take longer to process.

Once the article is published, TAN will provide the contributor or customer with the live article URL for review.

6. Links and External Websites

TAN reviews links contained within submitted articles and retains editorial control over how links appear within published content.

Links should be relevant to the article and should not direct readers to unlawful, deceptive, malicious or otherwise unsuitable websites.

TAN may remove, change or apply appropriate link attributes where required for editorial, security, technical or search-engine compliance purposes.

Publication of a link does not represent an endorsement by TAN of the linked website, business, product or service.

7. Images, Copyright and Permissions

Contributors and advertisers must own, license or otherwise have permission to use all text, photographs, graphics, logos and other material supplied to TAN.

Where an image requires attribution, the correct photographer, copyright holder or source information should be provided at the time of submission.

The person or organisation submitting material is responsible for ensuring that publication does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy or other third-party rights.

8. Permanent Article Publication

Where a TAN publishing package is described as permanent article publication, the intention is for the article to remain available on Travel Australia Network on an ongoing basis.

Permanent publication does not mean that content can never be changed, relocated or removed.

TAN may update website structure, page design, URLs, technology or editorial presentation as the site develops.

Content may also be removed where it becomes unlawful, misleading, technically harmful, subject to a legitimate rights complaint or no longer suitable for publication.

9. TAN + Blogticles Publishing

Where a publishing package includes both Travel Australia Network and Blogticles, the content may be formatted, edited or adapted appropriately for each website.

TAN does not guarantee that the two published versions will be identical.

Featured Blogticles placements apply only for the promotional period specified in the selected package.

10. Advertising Placements

Advertising positions are subject to availability and may include homepage, destination, experience, article, category or other promotional locations across TAN.

TAN may make reasonable changes to advertising placement where required because of website redesigns, device responsiveness, technical requirements or improvements to the presentation of the website.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, advertising placement does not guarantee a particular number of impressions, clicks, enquiries, bookings or sales.

11. Advertising Creative

Advertising artwork should be supplied in suitable web-ready formats and dimensions where requested.

TAN may resize, crop or optimise advertising artwork where reasonably required to suit desktop, tablet or mobile presentation.

Advertisers remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of claims contained in their advertising.

12. Refunds and Cancellations

If TAN is unable to provide an accepted and paid publishing or advertising service, an appropriate refund will be arranged.

Once an article has been published or an advertising campaign has commenced, payments are generally non-refundable unless otherwise agreed or required by Australian law.

Customers wishing to cancel before publication or commencement of a campaign should contact TAN as soon as possible.

13. Removal or Suspension of Content

TAN reserves the right to remove or suspend content where there is a reasonable concern regarding legality, copyright, security, misinformation, fraudulent activity, harmful material or breach of these terms.

TAN may also remove links or material where a linked website changes substantially after publication or begins displaying content that would not have been accepted at the time of publication.

14. No Guarantee of Search Rankings or Results

TAN does not guarantee Google or other search-engine indexing, rankings, search visibility, referral traffic, enquiries, leads, bookings, sales or other commercial results.

Search engines and third-party platforms operate independently and may change their systems, policies, indexing or ranking methods at any time.

15. Customer Responsibilities

By submitting an article or advertising material, you confirm that:

  • You are authorised to submit the material.
  • The information supplied is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • You have permission to use the supplied text, images and branding.
  • Your material does not intentionally contain malicious software or unsafe code.
  • Publication will not knowingly infringe the rights of another person or organisation.

16. Website Availability

TAN aims to keep published content and advertising available reliably, but uninterrupted website availability cannot be guaranteed.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, hosting issues, software updates, security requirements or circumstances outside TAN's reasonable control.

17. Changes to These Terms

Travel Australia Network may update these terms from time to time as our publishing, advertising and website services develop.

The version displayed on this page will be the current version of the TAN Advertising & Publishing Terms.

18. Australian Law

These terms are intended to operate under applicable Australian law. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under Australian consumer law.

19. Contacting Travel Australia Network
