Alice Springs NT Holiday & Travel Guide
Northern Territory

An oasis in the desert is a spirited celebration of life - and that's a perfect description of Alice Springs, oasis extraordinaire.

Here, in the middle of Australia's Red Centre, the doctors make housecalls by plane, the townspeople race bottomless boats down dry riverbeds, whilst visitors take camels to dinner.

"The Alice" (as the town of 20,000 is affectionately known), is also the gateway to Australia's heart and soul. You can hear the "heartbeats" as you visit Uluru (Ayers Rock), take an Aboriginal culture tour, or glide over the spectacular red plains in a hot air balloon. Just take a moment and you'll feel the ancient beat

Alice Springs is the central major town in this region, with modern hotels, 5 star resorts and tourism facilities. From Alice Springs you are able to access the many great features of this unique world class holiday destination. Places we highly recommend to vist are of course Uluru at sunrise and sunset, but there are also some other truely amazing experiences in this Red Centre region.

Finke Gorge National Park which is rumoured to have the worlds oldest river, is a 10,000 year old oasis with Palm Valley and its red fan palms. The MacDonnell Ranges offer fabulous adventures and sight seeing, in this 850 million year old landscapes, and gorges.

A visit to the centre would not be complete unles you visited the beautiful Garden of Eden in Kings Canyon. Great walks, lush bush and brilliant red sand dunes make this also a photograpers paradise. remember that a lot of the areas in this region are only accessible by four wheel drive.

This unique destination is a very wonderful place with a beautiful cultural and early settlement histories. Come and enjoy the spirituality of this magnificent holiday destination.
