Waverley Woolen Mills
Launceston
Australia's oldest woollen mill, founded in 1874 and still operating from the original site.The mill and mill owners house were among the first buildings in Tasmania to be lit by electricity in 1889.
Tamar Knitting Mills, founded in 1926 conduct daily tours of the factory.

Queen Victoria Museum Art Gallery and Museum
Launceston
Collections of Colonial Paintings and changing exhibits of contemporary art, as well as displays of Tasmania's wildlife, including the famous Tasmanian Tiger. The Launceston Planetarium is also housed here , its half hour show provides an entertaining and educational journey to the stars.

Tiagarra - the North-West's unique Aboriginal Culture and Arts Centre
Situated at Mersey Bluff with over 250 individual rock engravings.

Pilot Station and Maritime Museum
5km north of George Town
This working station contains a maritime and communication collection, buildings dating back to 1835, ship paintings gallery, and historic and tourism videos.

Ulverstone Local History Museum
Situated at 50 Main Street, Ulverstonhouse, this museum houses an extensive collection of records, photographs and memorabilia pertaining to the whole Central Coast District.

Devonport Maritime Museum
On Victoria Parade the museum includes a superb collection of detailed models from the days of sail.
Open Tuesday - Friday and Sundays 2.00pm -4.00pm in the Winter, and 1.00pm - 4.30pm in the Summer.

Don River Railway and Museum
This Devonport museum features Tasmanian's largest collection of steam locomotives and carriages.
Vintage Trains running hourly from 11.00am to 4.00pm and Railway Museum open 9.00am to 4.30pm daily throughout the year (except Christmas Day and Good Friday). A Steam Train runs on Sundays and Public Holidays.

Home Hill, Devonport
Home of former Prime Minister Joseph Lyons and Dame Enid Lyons. It is administered by The National Trust and contains many interesting and historic mementos of their interesting lives.
Open 2.00 pm - 4.00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Penny Royal World
Launceston A unique complex comprising a reconstructed 19th century Watermill and Farmhouse now providing quality motel accommodation, a Cornmill, magnificent Windmill, Gunpowder Mills, and the 18 metre paddle steamer "Lady Stelfox" which cruises alongside the complex in the Cataract Gorge and Tamar River.
The historic Number 16 tram travels between the Gunpowder Mills and the Windmill.
A visit to Penny Royal World provides is a chance to absorb the fascinating history and marvel at the working replicas of the original mills.

The Tasmanian Arboretum
Set in beautiful countryside at Eugenana, near Melrose, 10 kms south of Devonport this park has trees and shrubs from many areas of the world, including a fine collection of Tasmanian trees.
Open every day from 9.00 am till sundown, admission is free.

Bass Flight Services
