Flinders Ranges Holidays & Travel Information
South Australia

The Flinders Ranges abounds with wildlife from wedge-tailed eagles and emus to colourful parrots, and kangaroos ,which are all indigenous to this this area. Containing three national parks the Flinders are arguably one of Australia's most under-rated natural attractions. The Mid North has some of the richest agricultural and pastoral land in the state, with a valuable maritime and mining history , idyllic wine producing district and natural bushland adventures.

The immense and diverse region of the Flinders Rangers & the Outback covers around 70 percent of South Australia including some of the country’s most renowned landscapes. The Flinders Ranges ripple through the south east, rich with outstanding gorges and waterholes, Aboriginal sites, and the evocative ruins of many failed attempts at European settlement.

Here you’ll find the quintessential outback town of Coober Pedy, where hopeful miners fossik for the famous Black Opal, or the modern oases like Roxby Downs, and the remote outposts like Innaminka and Oodnadatta. While many attractions are easily reached along well maintained roads, others require four-wheel drive vehicles and safety precautions.
